Music to MY ears!

I often find myself wandering the various sections of the web and making some pretty weird queries, (umm, NO!You must have a dirty mind 😛 ). Well anyway, during one of these ventures I found myself on Wikipedia and looking at its article on Music, here’s what Music is defined as – “Music is an art form whose medium is sound and silence.”

and Well, if you agree, My friend your life is too bland! Music depends the individual’s perspective. The type of music you like may even be enough to stereotype you, your personality, your attitude, the whole nine yards!

New research from around the world suggests that an individual’s favorite music genre is closely linked to his or her personality.

well here’s what the research says,

Blues fans have high self-esteem, are creative, outgoing, gentle and at ease
Jazz fans have high self-esteem, are creative, outgoing and at ease
Classical music fans have high self-esteem, are creative, introvert and at ease
Rap fans have high self-esteem and are outgoing
Opera fans have high self-esteem, are creative and gentle
Country and western fans are hardworking and outgoing
Reggae fans have high self-esteem, are creative, not hardworking, outgoing, gentle and at ease
Dance fans are creative and outgoing but not gentle
Indie fans have low self-esteem, are creative, not hard-working, and not gentle
Bollywood fans are creative and outgoing
Rock/heavy metal fans have low self-esteem, are creative, not hard-working, not outgoing, gentle, and at ease
Chart pop fans have high self-esteem, are hardworking, outgoing and gentle, but are not creative and not at ease
Soul fans have high self-esteem, are creative, outgoing, gentle, and at ease

Well, I’ve always never restricted myself from profanity but since, I want this blog to be for all the age groups, I’d say that this research is BS.Maybe it suits the masses and maybe music does influence you as a person, but I’ll always trust that I am UNIQUE. And well I’m sort of a “mixed bag” if you will.

If you ask me, My favorite band would be a tie between The Beatles and Linkin park!
I’ve always been versatile with music! I mean I don’t listen to a lot of music, mind you, I stick to my own little collection, but I keep adding these tracks to them and I am very happy with my collection, after all what’s the use of boasting of a huge music collection, which you don’t have the time to listen to?

Music is food for the soul they say, and I AGREE! I’ve spent my days(not the bright sunny ones) in bed, with my earphones plugged in and volume turned up above the limit, those beats jeering in my head, the occasional melody trilling in my ears, the voice of that female artist that remains resonating in my ears, long after the song is done.Again the experience is different from person to person!
And even to me the experience varies from time to time, depending on the paradigm and of course my inherent mood and also the music!
And most of the time the Memories the music brings back.
Well, then there’s the age-old question, Music or lyrics?
what makes the song better for YOU?The scale has to tip some way!But for me, it’s the balance, that strikes the chord(yes,I just put it that way 😛 )

And maybe it’s because of my picky taste in music that lead to this rather small (comparatively) music library. But then again, I’m content! listening to Stereo hearts ,Aerosmith, Pink Floyd!

And well currently I am addicted to this band called, “The Script”  ! Boy, are they good! I am addicted to “glowing” and “broken arrow”!

and Well did I mention?
Beethoven’s Symphony, A personal favorite! 😀

Well, all that’s MUSIC to my ears!
What’s yours?
